What it is

What a picosecond laser does, explained in 30 seconds.

Pigment is a cluster of colour particles in the skin. Older lasers heat it slowly; a picosecond laser hits it with pulses a trillionth of a second long, so the pigment shatters into fine particles while the surrounding skin barely warms. The body's own clean-up system clears the particles over the following weeks. Four wavelengths let PiQo4 match different pigments and skin types.

Does it hurt?

Each pulse feels like a quick snap, with cooling. Most clients find it easy.

Will the spots get darker first?

For a few days, yes. That is the pigment on its way out before it flakes and fades.

What if it is not for me?

Some pigment, such as melasma, needs a gentler plan. We tell you plainly at the consultation and recommend what fits.

How many sessions will I need?

Often a short series a few weeks apart; single spots can need fewer. We confirm your plan at the consultation.

Is there any downtime?

A little pinkness and a few days of darker spots before they flake. Makeup is usually fine the next day.

Can I do it with a tan?

Laser treatments are planned away from strong sun and self-tanner. We go through it with you when you book.

PiQo4 or the IPL photofacial?

PiQo4 targets individual spots with picosecond pulses; the IPL photofacial evens tone and redness over a whole area. The consultation decides, often both.

What does it cost?
