What it is

What a photofacial does, explained in 30 seconds.

Brown spots and visible redness are pigment and small vessels sitting in the upper skin. Filtered light passes through the surface and is absorbed by exactly those targets: the pigment heats, breaks up and flakes away over a few days; the small vessels close and fade. The skin around them is left alone, which is why there is little downtime.

Does it hurt?

Each pulse feels like a quick warm snap. Cool gel and a cooled applicator keep it comfortable.

Will the spots get darker?

For a few days, yes. That is the pigment lifting out before it flakes away.

What if it is not for me?

Some skin types and tans are not suited to IPL. At the consultation we tell you plainly and recommend what fits instead.

How many sessions will I need?

Most plans are a short series a few weeks apart, confirmed at the consultation.

Is there any downtime?

Little to none. Spots darken for a few days and flake away; redness fades within hours.

Can I do it with a tan?

No. The light needs untanned skin, so photofacials are planned away from sun and self tanner. We go through it with you when you book.
